JB 92 Girls Finish Second in Gateway Shootout

Friday, September 26th, 2008

The JB 92 girls went 1-1-1 in pool play, including a victory over Carrera – Varvaro, and earned enough points to make the final of the Gateway Shootout in St. Louis. In the final they faced rival Tulsa Soccer Club – Red. TSC got a lucky header goal, which ricocheted off the post, from a corner kick taken near the end of the first half. That lone goal ended up being the game winner in a toughly contested match. Congratulations to the JB 92 girls for a strong showing in St. Louis!!!

The U13′s also played well in St. Louis. Although they did not make the final, they came away with a tie and also the strongest finish of any of the teams in their pool against the SLSG team that came out on top. For the first out-of-town tournament for several of the new players on the team, it was a great experience. We’re looking forward to many great things from this team in future tournaments!

League Results, Week 2

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

Despite the early rains of Hurricane Ike, the girls of JB Marine had an outstanding Saturday out at the league fields.

The 97 girls started the morning off with a HUGE bang beating rival SSC 2-1. The girls came out of the gate running and scored 2 goals quickly and played stellar defense the rest of the game. The lone goal for SSC was scored off a free kick placed nicely in the corner.

The 96 girls kept the winning tradition going with big wins over Xtreme, 7-0, and the Lakers, 6-1. The girls were moving the ball with great ease and placed some beautiful balls in the back off the net. The team effort in both wins was a site to see.
JB Marine 2000 stepped up to the plate with a 3-2 loss in the U10 A bracket. Considering the size opponents and the task of getting used to a larger field, the girls are making great strides and starting to click on the field. We look forward to what the future has to bring for our little JB darlings!

Long awaited Ozark 3v3 tournament results

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

JB Marine entered 7 teams in the Ozarks Summer Sizzle 3v3 tournament. It was a hot day and the girls had a ball! We walked off the field that day with a 1st and 2nd place finish in the high school girls division and a 2nd and 3rd place finish in the U14 bracket. The U12′s had a great showing going 2-2 and the U9′s ended the day 1-2 having had the task of playing in the U10 boys division.
We are so proud of our teams and look forward to more success on the field!

Big Sis/Lil Sis Soccer Program

Monday, September 8th, 2008

The girls will be getting their big soccer sis or lil soccer sis on Thursday at practice. We ask that the girls find ways to support their soccer sisters(ie. attending games, making cards, simply saying hello). The coaching staff is working on some club events that will be centered around the soccer sister program. We really want to promote positive relationships and female role models within our soccer community! More details to come….

Training Update

Monday, September 8th, 2008

The girls received new calendars last Thursday at practice. Please note that we have moved the training start times up to 6pm for the 92, 96 and 97 girls due to light restrictions. We are making arrangements for lighted fields and hope to move the times back in October. Please make sure you watch your email and this website for updates!

League Results- Weekend 1

Monday, September 8th, 2008

JB Marine had a big Saturday! The 97 girls started off the morning with 10 of the 11 players scoring in a big win! The 97 girls struck again with another win putting in 7 goals and letting just 3 slip by. The 96 girls kept the winning tradition going with a confident win over the Cyclone White team with over 5 different players scoring! The newest team to the club, JB Marine 2000, took on the task of being the only U9 team playing in the highest U10 bracket and meeting their toughest opponent in the first game. Though the girls suffered two losses, they adjusted to the 8v8 lineup well and saw some huge improvements as the day went on!

We are so proud of the JB teams and look forward to more success on the league fields this fall season!
